NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Forestival, a festival celebrating art and nature, kicks off Saturday! It takes place in Algiers, at the “Studio in the Woods” location on Patterson Road.

Current and past artists who have stayed at the studio will have their work on display. There will also be live local music, poetry readings, food and drink. There will be tons of activities for families too, with a puppet show, bug walk and a tour of the woods with a botanist all on the schedule.

“It’s just a wonderful time for people to spend the day out in the woods enjoying, not just the natural environment, but the arts that relate to the natural environment,” Studio in the Woods Managing Director Ama Rogan said.

This event is open to the public, starting at 11 a.m. running untill 5 p.m. There’s a suggested $5 donation at the gate.
