NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – If you didn’t know it by now, Hollywood South is real, and that comes with some minor inconveniences for residents.

A movie production and will be filming in City Park today (Thursday Nov. 20) and Friday. According to a release from the city, the scenes being filmed use special effects containing simulated explosions. As a result, on Dreyfous Dr. at the Peristyle will closed between the hours of 11 p.m. and 1 a.m.

On Friday, a production company will be filming exterior scenes in the CBD on the 100 block of LaSalle St. between Canal St. and Cleveland Ave. As a result, those streets will be closed Friday between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Law enforcement will be on site ensure public safety and to help facilitate the work.

In Jefferson Parish, “American Horror Story” will be filming on Live Oak Blvd. at South Kenner Dr. in Waggaman on Friday. The closure will take place between the hours of 4 p.m. and 4 a.m.

Filming will require the closure of Live Oak Boulevard between Rivet Drive and Savoie Place.  The production company will have detours directing traffic around the closure via Rivet Drive while filming is taking place.

According to a release, those living along South Kenner Ave. will still have access to their property.

Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Officers will be present to monitor traffic restrictions.  Barricades, barrels, cones, and signals will be on site to assist in directing motorists.
