BATON ROUGE — The father of wounded East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Deputy Nick Tullier said, “Nick is still fighting.” The brief update on his son’s condition comes 19 days after Nick was shot in an ambush on police by a lone gunman in Baton Rouge.
James Tullier wrote that his son has had an on-and-off fever and that he has had some complications with both major injury sites over the last 48 hours.
James also asked for many prayers.
“I know people are praying all over the world but my fear is with time, that will start slacking off some. Our only hope is for a miracle. That will only happen thru continued prayer. We need all churches this Sunday to remember and pray for Nick as well as all other officers,” James wrote.
“Put yourself in their shoes and think of your feelings when leaving your family to go to work. I know people now are vocally supporting law enforcement officers, but it must continue and must grow exponentially. If you see a law enforcement officer on the street, please say hello and thank you.”
Nick was shot along with five other law enforcement officers Sunday, July 17, outside a convenience store and car wash in Baton Rouge.
Two Baton Rouge police officers were killed instantly, along with one East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s deputy. Two other injured law enforcement officers have been released from the hospital.
