Fairs, Festivals and Events: June 22nd weekend

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Happy Tales of the Cocktail! Anne Cutler is giving us the low-down on fairs, festivals, and events happening this weekend.

This weekend kicks off tales of the cocktail! Every year, this festival brings together the most respected talents in mixology for a host of events around our city! The  fest includes seminars, tastings, and other special events.

Saturday, get ready to eat up because Dat Dog is having a National Hot Dog Day celebration! They’ll have drink specials, live music, and a hot dog dressing contest. This event is not only delicious but charitable as well! All proceeds will benefit Son of a Saint, an organization that provides mentorship to fatherless boys in New Orleans.

Time to find your eighteenth-century undergarments, Saturday is the Second Annual Corset Crawl! All proceeds from this event will benefit “Gratuity for Graduates” a program that rewards high school seniors for graduating. Wristbands are available for purchase on the Creativity Collective website.

To end the weekend with some fun, head to Pearl River on Sunday  for the 16th Annual Lock One Kid’s Fishing Tournament. Youth under 12 years old fish for free and have the opportunity to win a cash prize.
