NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – The driver of a deadly Lamborghini crash appeared in magistrate court Tuesday afternoon. Jason Adams, 30, faces a vehicular homicide charge after he crashed his 2015 Lamborghini earlier this month into a flood wall on Tchoupitoulas Street killing his passenger.

Prosecutors said Adams was traveling 118 mph on Tchoupitoulas before he lost control of the car and crashed near Felicity Street.

The accident happened about midnight on May 4.

Toxicology reports revealed Adams had a blood alcohol content of .11%. Prosecutors said in court Tuesday that the test was taken two hours after the crash.

Adam’s passenger has been identified as 23-year-old Kristi Lirette. She died at the scene.

Adams was booked into the Orleans Parish Jail on a $75,000 bond.
