NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Brandon Licciardi and Erik Nunez were in court Thursday. The two face drug and rape charges related to former Saint Darren Sharper’s case.
The trial for Licciardi and Nunez was set to begin Thursday but was moved back to July after more charges were filed against them.
Nunez’s lawyer also filed new motions last month. Now, he is arguing that two counts should be dismissed because not enough facts have been presented. The two counts in question are conspiracy to give out drugs with the intent to commit rape, and tampering with a cell phone to impair an official proceeding.
Nunez’s lawyer also filed a motion to get Nunez and Licciardi’s case separated.
Darren Sharper struck a plea deal in March. His sentencing is set for June 16.
