BATON ROUGE – Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry broke six ribs snowboarding in Montana last week.

The AG’s office confirmed the accident details for WGNO.

The accident occurred during a family vacation.  Landry says that he was snowboarding down a mountain when he got caught in a sudden “whiteout”– snow blowing so thickly that he couldn’t see where he was going, and fell.

With the broken ribs, Landry’s movement and ability to speak are limited because of the pain. Landry has been working from his home in Broussard while he recuperates. Doctors say it may take as long as six weeks for him to recover.
