NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Some of the strip clubs that had their alcohol permits suspended had a hearing at Benson Tower Monday in the state’s Alcohol and Tobacco Commission’s headquarters. Commissioner Troy Hebert heard investigator’s findings and the clubs’ plan to remedy the issues uncovered.
Platinum Bourbon Incorporated owns Lipstixxx, Centerfolds and Maison Bourbon, which have had their alcohol permit suspended. They also own Temptations which is still operating, but was also named in the investigation “Operation Trick or Treat”, which discovered illegal prostitution and drug activity at nine total bars and strip clubs. The Louisiana State Police are now investigating to determine possible criminal charges.
Some of the businesses fought the suspension and had it temporarily lifted, but a judge later ruled against them and reinstated the suspension. Commissioner Hebert says it could take a couple days before he makes a decision on these clubs’ alcohol permits.
In Monday’s hearing, attorneys for the clubs said that they would propose hiring an additional, independent security agency to handle these issues and they would also report any incidents to their management, law enforcement and the ATC. They’ll also provide a monthly progress report, and if fines were imposed, they would also be paid. They’ve also terminated all employees involved in the illegal activities, including managers.
Dixie Divas and Chez Joey will have hearings Tuesday.
Hearings have not set up yet for Babes Cabaret, Big Daddy’s, Bourbon Cowboy and The Swamp on Bourbon.
