Another big nod for Shaya: Food & Wine says it’s a top 10 new restaurant in America

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – The awards just keep on coming for Shaya.

Chef Alon Shaya’s Magazine Street Israeli restaurant was named among the top 10 new restaurants in the country by Food & Wine Magazine.

In May, the prestigious James Beard Foundation named Shaya the Best New Restaurant in America. Esquire also named Shaya as the Best New Restaurant in America in October 2015.

“The pita that he constantly pulls from the oven is ultra-tender and pillowy, and the scent perfumes the room (Shaya might be the country’s best-smelling restaurant),” the magazine notes in the latest accolade.
