It’s the Blue Dog Hog! The only one in the world and it can be yours

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO)
– It’s the world’s only Blue Dog Hog.

And it can be yours.

That’s if the price is right.

WGNO News with a Twist features guy Wild Bill Wood says the bike is up for auction and it’s expected to fetch a big price.

Louisisana artist George Rodrigue painted his famous puppy using a Harley Davidson Fat Boy as his canvas.

That was back in 1994.

The Blue Dog Hog  was on display at the Rodrigue Gallery in New Orleans.  A collector from Wisconsin bought it.  And it’s been in private hands ever since.

George Rodrigue died in 2013.  He started making motorcycles a part of his paintings back in the 80s.  He never rode motorcycles himself.  But he loved the open road and the freedom and Americana attached to motorcycles.

That’s why his wife Wendy Rodrigue has to say.

New Orleans Auction Galleries is in charge of selling the bike.  It could go for as much as $250,000.

As you’ll see in Wild Bill’s story here, there are six Blue Dogs on the bike.  And on the tank’s center console, a couple of Red Dogs!

It’s signed by George Rodrigue on both sides of the tank.

If you buy it, you get a matching Blue Dog helmet. It’s also signed.

New Orleans auctioneer Taylor Eichenwald is ready to take your bid.  The auction starts Sunday, May 22 at 10 am.
