WGNO is helping local musicians in the community with our “New Orleans Music Playlist, Save the Music Louisiana” specials. This Friday May 1st on our Jazz Fest Edition airing 6PM on WGNO-TV ABC, we have interviews with music legends you don’t want to miss. Legendary bassist George Porter, Jr. shares some of his favorite Jazz Fest memories; Grammy award-winning musician Terence Blanchard tells us why he looks forward to Jazz Fest every year; Zydeco artist Bruce “Sunpie” Barnes recalls the story of how he got his first chance to play at Jazz Fest; and singer Lena Prima shows us how she is helping others from home.

Plus we will have performances by community favorites Davell Crawford, Zion Harmonizers, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Cyril Neville, James Rivers, Lena Prima, and Leo Nocentelli. Help our music community now and donate here.
