(WGNO) – Bill Gates has written a blog about his recent meeting with former Saint Steve Gleason.
Earlier this year, Gates took the ALS ice bucket challenge. He then met with Gleason, who has ALS, to brainstorm new ways to improve technology that helps patients live fuller lives.
Gleason is working with Microsoft to develop ways to control a wheelchair using the Microsoft Surface.
Team members at Microsoft are also trying to improve the predictive text software which helps Gleason communicate.
Gates wrote that he was really glad to meet Gleason, and was inspired by the former Saint.
