INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WGNO) – Several republicans are expected to speak this afternoon at a leadership forum during the National Rifle Association annual meeting in Indianapolis.

The three-day event kicked off Friday.

Those expected to speak include, Senator Marco Rubio from Florida, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal and Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell.

This weekend’s festivities are expected to include shooting, hunting and outdoor exhibits, as well as rallies, seminars and concerts.

Seventy-thousand people are expected to attend.

The event takes place with the national debate over guns cooling in a midterm election year.
