NEW ORLEANS, La. (WGNO) — Firefighters are investigating two fire incidents throughout the City of New Orleans.

According to the New Orleans Fire Department, the first incident happened in the 3900 block of Buchanan Blvd around 7:50 p.m. when a air-fryer left unattended ignited.

There has been no word of any fatalities at this time.

The second fire happened around 1:15 p.m. in the 2700 block of MLK Blvd. According to reports, the fire began spreading from a 1-story abandoned home to two neighboring homes leaving them severely damaged.

Firefighters were able to safely evacuate six residents in the neighboring homes, before extinguishing the fire.

There are no reported injuries, but the American Red Cross has been notified to assist the residents displaced in the incident.

The fire remains under investigation.
