NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – An art studio in the Marigny is taking the traditional art class and adding a twist, literally.
“We do streetcars, fleur de lis, and that’s something that’s near and dear to us and we want you to have a piece of that as well,” says Paint And Jrink co-owner Bianca Beasley.
And that’s part of what makes Paint And Jrink stand out in the Marigny.
Each piece is the brainchild of Bianca’s husband Jerin, that’s where the “J” in “Jrink” comes from.
“We all love New Orleans for our food and art so you get a chance to make that masterpiece and bring it home with you,” says Beasley
It’s a chance to wind down as well, or should we say “wine down” because that’s a big part of the Paint And Jrink concept too.
“We’re doing one of the streetcars and I kind of have my own little way of going about it,” says Paint And Jrink customer John Puree.
And while this finished product may look intimidating, the good news is every canvass is pre-sketched plus, there’s supervised instruction.
But Bianca says Paint And Jrink doesn’t necessarily have to be all about the painting.
She says it’s mainly about the experience. Come in with friends and family, take a load off, maybe even meet new friends in the process.
Regardless, you’re going home with a one-of-a-kind piece of art but it’s up to you if it hangs over the fireplace or not.
