NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) –

New Orleans Film Festival

Beautiful people from all over the world are here in Hollywood South for one of the largest film festivals in Louisiana.

The 26th Annual New Orleans Film Festival kicked off with a screening at the Orpheum theater of Born to be Blue, starring Ethan Hawke.

Panels and seminars with professionals will be held all week to educate and talk to people who want to be successful at filmmaking.

A second line after the screening took place downtown from the Orpheum Theater to the Civic Theatre for a kick-off party.

Jackie Boy

Many films are set to screen all over the city for the 26th Annual New Orleans Film Festival. One film all the way from Canida made it’s way into the film fest and has a spot for two screenings.

Jackie Boy, directed by Cody Campanale, will be making its United States premiere at the festival and has already won the Best Director Award at the 2015 Ottawa Independent Video Awards.

Jackie Boy explores the consequences of mixing equal parts pleasure, jealousy, and revenge.  After Jack tries to distance himself from a terrible past, his journey to redemption leads him into a situation that’s much darker than his original dreams for a fresh start.
