(CNN) — Sure, fans of “Dancing with the Stars” are excited each week to see who gets the boot, but this season it’s all about the performances, thanks in part to Bindi Irwin.

Monday night’s Halloween episode found Hayes Grier and Emma Slater eliminated. But it was Irwin who captivated viewers with her “fang-tastic Argentine Tango” with partner Derek Hough.

The performance earned the daughter of the late wildlife expert Steve Irwin a perfect score, her second in two weeks. She recently told Ellen DeGeneres that she did not get her dancing talent from her father.

“Dad wasn’t really known for his dancing” she said. “I don’t even think he danced at my mum’s wedding.”

The young dancer is winning praise from fans and former competitors. Even actress Leah Remini, who has been filling in for Erin Andrews on the show, has had kind words for Irwin.

Last week’s show featured Irwin and Hough re-creating the iconic performance that ended the film “Dirty Dancing.”

Nick Carter, Alexa PenaVega, Tamar Braxton, Andy Grammer, Alek Skarlatos and Alexa’s husband Carlos PenaVega face stiff competition from Irwin, with site Gold Derby predicting her as the frontrunner to win.
