Coma-stricken Joan Rivers spoke to a voodoo priestess days before her death

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Days before Joan Rivers died her friend of 22-years rushed to her side. Sally Ann Glassman, a voodoo priestess from New Orleans says Rivers spoke to her and was OK with death.

Glassman said Rivers told her, “I’m not going to fight my way back from all this only to have to die again. I’m 81 years old, I’m just going to check out. I’m at the top of my career, I’m at the top of my game. Goodbye.”

Rivers first met Glassman decades earlier when Rivers needed help removing a demonic presences from her New York apartment. The two then became close friends that will last beyond death, Glassman says.

Glassman told WGNO she will still be apart of Joan’s family and help them whenever they need it.

During the interview, Glassman also talks at length about how her friendship with Rivers grew over the years.  She says she and Rivers spoke regularly on the phone and would spend time together in both New York and New Orleans.

According to Glassman, Rivers was kind and gracious but also unafraid to roll up her sleeves and handle the dirty work of show biz or any other challenge.  Glassman says Rivers is still a big part of her life even after her death.
