UPDATE: Metairie man wanted for murder, found dead in Houston hotel room

5/23 UPDATE: A Metairie man wanted for killing a woman near River Road has been found dead in a hotel room in Houston.

Larry Richardson Jr. fled New Orleans in a 2020 Toyota Camry after allegedly committing the murder in the 3400 block of Mole Cottage Street on Friday night


While an investigation by the Houston Police Department is underway, a Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office report says Richardson’s death appears to be a suicide.

5/22 UPDATE: The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office has identified a suspect in homicide of a woman near River Road on Friday night.

JPSO detectives are searching for 40-year-old Larry Richardson of Metairie, La.

Richardson is wanted for Second-Degree Murder and Obstruction of Justice related to the homicide of a woman on Mole Cottage Street.

Richardson was last driving a silver 2020 Toyota Camry (shown above) bearing Louisiana license plate ‘275DJG’ and is possibly headed toward Houston.

The suspect is a black male, standing approximately 5-foot-10 tall and weighing 160 pounds. 

METAIRIE, La. (WGNO) — The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office investigated a homicide that occurred in the 3400 block of Mole Cottage Street near River Road on Friday night.

Just prior to 7 p.m., JPSO deputies responded to call of a woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.

There is no further information at this time.
