SLIDELL, La (WGNO) — Two brothers are dead following a shooting in a Slidell neighborhood Saturday morning.

Police said the shooting happened at the 3100 block of Terrace Avenue. Officers responded to a call of shots fired around 11:00 a.m. and located two men.

The victims were reportedly two brothers.

One brother died on the scene. The other was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died.

Slidell Police have reportedly arrested 41-year-old Mario Andre Scott in connection to the two homicides.

According to police, the two brothers confronted Scoot about an altercation he had earlier with their father when Scott shot and killed them.

After the shooting, Scott fled the Slidell area and was later located in Jefferson Parish.

He faces two counts of first-degree homicide, and one count of a felon in possession of a firearm.

Slidell Police Chief Randy Fandal released a statement saying, “This is a senseless tragedy that never should have happened in our community. Hopefully, the victims’ family can find some peace knowing this killer is off our streets and behind bars. I’m proud of the effort of all those involved with this case. Multiple law enforcement agencies worked together, very quickly, to get this suspect in-custody.”

Both victim’s have been identified as 47-year-old Miguel Doucette and 36-year old Kerry Doucette.

St. Tammany Parish Coroner Dr. Charles Preston, has confirmed they both died from multiple gunshot wounds.
