NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Three women are wanted in connection a New Orleans shoplifting investigation.

Officials with the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) said the women stole multiple items of clothing from Jean Therapy on the 5500 block of Magazine Street on Friday, May 5th.

Investigators said the same women were identified as the suspects in two other shoplifting cases. One of the other incidents happened the same day in the Sixth District, and they were also connected to a previous shoplifting case in the Second District.

“On Friday in the afternoon, three girls walked into the store and they started picking up items. We offered them fitting rooms, like we always do with all customers and they totally ignored us,” Meghan Kuhn, Manager of Jean Therapy said.

Kuhn said her employee did some quick thinking and said to all shoppers that they was an emergency and everyone needed to leave the store.

“They became a little aggressive and didn’t want to leave the store and they basically ran out with whatever they could take,” Kuhn said.

Police told Meghan that these shoplifters have stolen from several stores around New Orleans.

“It is scary because you don’t know how it will escalate. Obviously it is not worth it to chase them down over a few items. We know to be aware, but there’s only so much we can do,” she said.

The shoplifters stole about $1-thousand dollars worth of merchandise.

NOPD officials are asking the public to help identity the women pictured in security footage clips.
