MONTEGUT, La. — Sheriff Tim Soignet announced the arrest of three men for the crimes that occurred during this incident.

On Jan. 13, TPSO deputies, detectives and crime scene responded to 103 Montegut St. in reference to two females that had been shot. Deputies located 37-year-old Hope Nettleton and 34-year-old Brittany Cormier, suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were pronounced deceased on the scene. 

Through the investigation, it was learned that Brittany’s brother, Beaux Cormier, had been arrested in Vermillion Parish for third degree rape of his niece. This is a pending criminal case in Vermillion Parish court system. Beaux is currently a convicted sex offender.

Sheriff Soignet advised that a team of Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office Violent Crime detectives travelled to Lafayette Parish and began working with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Vermillion Parish Sheriff’s Office to successfully close this case.

Through the investigation, it was learned that the rape arrest resulted in 35-year-old Beaux Cormier (Kaplan, LA) soliciting the assistance of his friends, 25-year-old Andrew Eskine (Carencro, LA) and 22-year-old Dalvin Wilson (Eunice, LA) to murder the victim of the Rape.

Dalvin and Andrew were both financially compensated to carry out the murder. Detectives learned that the three travelled to Montegut, LA to do surveillance on the residence prior to the homicide and had actually attempted to carry out the homicide on a prior occasion but were unsuccessful.

At the time of the homicides on January 13, Andrew Eskine was out of town at work, however facilitated the vehicle and plan to carry out the murders.

According to Sheriff Soignet, Brittany Cormier was murdered as a result of telling the shooter she was in fact the Rape victim, likely saving the life of the actual Rape victim. Detectives say that Hope Nettleton, who was at the address visiting Brittany, attempted to fight the gunman and was fatally shot.

Sheriff Soignet advised that after further investigation, it was determined that Beaux Cormier, Andrew Eskine and Dalvin Wilson would have additional criminal charges. Each are now additionally charged with one count of Criminal Conspiracy to Commit Murder and one count of Attempted First Degree Murder.

These charges stem from the two prior incidents when they conducted surveillance on the residence and then attempted to commit the crime, however were not successful.

Beaux Cormier is additionally charged with Solicitation for Murder for Hire.

Beaux Cormier, Andrew Eskine and Dalvin Wilson are now being held without bond at the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex
