NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — New Orleans police released surveillance video of a burglary that shows a thief squeezing past a store’s burglar bars after he smashes the front door glass.
The crime happened at about 5:00 in the morning on June 30 at the City Gear clothing store located in the 2800 block of South Claiborne Avenue.
The footage shows the thief approach the front doors of the building and use a large rock or piece of concrete to shatter the glass. He then uses a piece of wood to clear a way past the sharp glass edges remaining in the door’s frame.
But then the thief had to get past a set of burglar bars. Frankly, if he were a heftier guy, it might not have happened. Click on the video button above to see for yourself.
