NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – According to ProjectNOLA, Friday’s shooting of a 14-year-old child and his football coach marked the second time in one week that a local teen was shot while at or near a New Orleans playground. While local playgrounds should be a safe haven from drug dealers and gun-toting thugs, sadly, ProjectNOLA believes this not to be the case.

The organization is hoping to instantly and dramatically improve the safety of New Orleans playgrounds by placing High Definition ProjectNOLA crime cameras near parks.

With every $250 in contributed funds, ProjectNOLA can place one more HD crime camera around a local playground, instantly helping to make it a safer place for children to enjoy. From the ProjectNOLA Incident Monitoring Center, system administrators often see an immediate difference after a crime camera goes active on their video screens.
