SLIDELL, La. (WGNO) – Slidell Police are officially saying the social media threat at Salmen High School Tuesday was a prank.
“I can assure you this alleged prank was not funny, and the person(s) responsible will be charged with a serious felony crime. We will not tolerate any pranks or threats that disturb the learning process at any of our schools,” Chief Randy Smith said.

SLIDELL, La. (WGNO) – Investigators are looking into online threats made against a north shore high school Tuesday.
Slidell police say the threats targeted Salmen High School and indicated there would be a shooting. Officials say they are trying to determine if the threats are real.
Meanwhile, police are taking all steps necessary to ensure the safety of students and faculty.
The threats were made through a popular social media site.
