NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department reported a homicide in the 4700 block of West Adams Court on Wednesday, March 16.
The incident was initially reported at about 9:03 p.m. and upon arrival, Seventh District officers found a man lying in the street suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was declared dead at the scene.
On Friday, March 18, the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 21-year-old Raynell Hughes. The preliminary cause of Hughes’ death has been listed as a gunshot wound.
