NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A New Orleans woman who barricaded herself inside her Uptown home early Thursday morning surrendered without further incident, police said.

The NOPD SWAT team was called to the home on Palmer Ave. near Loyola Ave. before sunrise after a report that she was armed with a handgun.

She surrendered shortly after 7 a.m. with no reports of any injuries or gunshots, according to a release from a police spokesman.
