NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department responded to a home in the Lower Garden District on Monday after a homicide suspect reportedly barricaded himself inside.

Police say around 10:30 a.m., officers were called to a home in the 1900 block of Annunciation Street. A spokesperson says 32-year-old Larry Davis had locked himself in the building.

We’re told Davis wanted in connection to a March shooting at Willie Mae’s Scotch House in the Tremé. On March 28, police responded to the restaurant where a man, later identified as 30-year-old Carneal Knapper, was shot several times, reportedly after an argument. Knapper was pronounced dead at the scene.

We’re told the NOPD’s SWAT forces, along with the Violent Offender Squad (VOWS) and federal officials, arrested the suspect early Monday afternoon. Davis will be booked with second-degree murder and obstruction of justice, however, police say other charges could be forthcoming.
