NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A man is dead after a shooting in an Algiers neighborhood Sunday (April 23rd.)

Police say that around 9:00 p.m. officers were called to the 3100 block of Diana Street. As the investigation furthered, it was determined the incident occurred in the 1100 block of Odeon Street.

At the scene, detectives found a 36-year-old man, unresponsive on the sidewalk. Police say the victim had been shot multiple times.

The man was transported to an area hospital where he later died. His identity has not yet been disclosed.

It’s unknown who fired the shots, along with a motive for the shooting. The investigation remains ongoing.
