UPDATE: The New Orleans Police Department is looking for two persons of interest in the ongoing investigation of a triple homicide reported earlier on Monday.
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — New Orleans police began investigating an early-morning triple shooting in Gentilly on Monday, March 21.
NOPD reports just after 3 a.m., officers responded to a call of a shooting in the 4100 block of Encampment Street.
When they arrived, police found three people inside an apartment suffering from gunshot wounds — two men and one woman. All three victims were pronounced dead at the scene, reclassifying the case as a triple homicide.
On Thursday, March 24, the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office identified two of the three victims as:
- 21-year-old Amya Cornin
- 27-year-old Darrin Williams
Both Cornin and Williams’ cause of death has been listed as a gunshot wound.
The identity of the third suspect remains under investigation.
Detectives have not yet determined a suspect or motive in the case.
Neighbors told WGNO News that they heard around 30 shots Monday morning. Neighbors said that the two men that were shot and killed were cousins and the woman killed was a girlfriend to one of the men.

On Monday afternoon, NOPD investigators released surveillance video and images of two subjects running away from the scene. Although they are not wanted on criminal charges, NOPD would just like to question them about what they might know.
