NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department reported a double homicide at the intersection of South Roman Street and Washington Avenue on Tuesday, March 15.

Shortly after 8 p.m., Sixth District officers responded to a call of a shooting in Central City.

Initial reports indicated two men were found suffering from gunshot wounds. The two were pronounced dead at the scene.

However, NOPD later reported that one victim was a 13-year-old boy, identified as Byron Kelly by the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office on Thursday, March 17.

The other victim was identified as 21-year-old Sebastian Hubbard.

Both preliminary causes of death have been listed as gunshot wounds.

Other details of the shooting, including a suspect and a motive, have not yet been determined. Police continue to investigate the incident.
