On Tuesday, July 20, the New Orleans Coroner identified the victim in this incident as 40-year-old David Moore.

The coroner listed the preliminary cause of the death as gunshot wound(s).

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department began investigating a shooting late Friday morning.

According to NOPD, the shooting happened in the 1800 block of Touro Street.

When police arrived they discovered a man suffering from an undetermined number of gunshot wounds lying in the street.

The man was transported to a local hospital. His condition is unknown.

Law enforcement discovered a second victim inside a location in the 1800 block of Touro Street.

The second victim was another man that was pronounced dead on the scene.

No further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will determine the official cause of death and release the victims’ names upon completion of autopsy and notification of families.
