NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Two more people have been identified as suspects following a large brawl at a local high school graduation ceremony.

On Wednesday, June 1, NOPD identified 38-year-old Sjanitta Egana and 18-year-old Jaci Egana in the investigation of the fight at the George Washington Carver High School commencement.

Police say a series of interviews, information received from the school, and video surveillance helped them identify the two women as suspects. Both are wanted for disturbing the peace by engaging in a fistic encounter.

The case dates back to around 11:45 a.m. on Friday, May 20, when police say the fight occurred between several large groups at the ceremony, which took place at Xavier University.

NOPD quickly apprehended 22-year-old Malik Washington as one of the suspects and found him to be in possession of a firearm.

Malik Washington is a convicted felon and was arrested as a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

Anyone with information about this incident, or who knows where Sjanitta and Jaci Egana are, is asked to contact Second District detectives at (504) 658-6020 or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111, toll-free 1-877-903-7867.
