UPDATE: Suspect arrested for Algiers shooting that left man hospitalized, NOPD reports

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — In a follow-up to a report of a shooting in the 30 block of Lakewood Estates Drive in Algiers, La., on Wednesday afternoon, the NOPD has arrested 42-year-old Onassys Bloomberg at the scene of the crime.

Officers received the call at 3:45 p.m., and upon arrival found a male victim with a gunshot wound following what is being called a domestic disturbance.


Bloomberg has been booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center on a charge of aggravated battery.

The victim was transported via EMS to a hospital.
