Coroner identifies victims in Pauger Street shooting and Touro Street shooting

Update: July 20 — The New Orleans Coroner identified the victim in the Pauger Street shooting as 33-year-old Warren Smith. The coroner listed the preliminary cause of the death as gunshot wound(s).

The victim in the Touro Street shooting was identified as 40-year-old David Moore. The preliminary cause of the death in this incident is also listed as gunshot wound(s).



Update: July 16, 2:30 p.m. — Further investigations report this shooting is connected to a second shooting that occurred late Friday morning on the 1800 block of Touro Street.

NOPD reports there are two victims in this incident — both adult males. One victim was declared dead at the scene, the other was taken to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries.


Update: July 16, 11:30 a.m. — The incident has since been declared a homicide. A second male victim was reportedly taken to a hospital with a gunshot wound. His condition is unknown.


NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department began investigating a shooting that happened at the intersection of Pauger and North Derbigny Street.

On July 16, around 10:30 a.m officers were notified of the incident.

Initial reports show a man sustained injuries from a gunshot.
