NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A 56-year-old man was found dead in a canal in the Seventh Ward Sunday (March 19th).

Reports say it happened at the intersection of Florida Avenue and New Orleans Street around 2:00 p.m.

At the scene officers located a man suffering from blunt-force trauma to the body. He died on the scene.

The man identity has not been released at this time. The homicide remains under investigation.
