MARRERO, La. (WGNO) — The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in solving a homicide that happened on Monday night. Police say they discovered a deceased male inside of a vehicle on the shoulder of the Westbank Expressway.

The vehicle was found near the Ames Boulevard offramp shortly before 7 p.m. Police say that details on the scene prove the victim was shot while driving. The victim was believed to be traveling west on the elevated portion of the expressway, in a white 2004 Toyota 4Runner.

JP Deputies said the shooting most likely happened between Manhattan Blvd. and the Harvey Canal. Anyone that may have seen the vehicle or any aspect of this incident is asked to call the Homicide Section at 504-364-5300 or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
