HAHNVILLE, La. (WGNO) – A Hahnville High School teacher has been arrested and accused of inappropriate sexual conduct with a student.

The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office confirmed Friday that they have arrested 30-year-old Jeremy Eusea on charges of Sexual Battery and Prohibited Sexual Conduct With a Student.

According to the Hahnville High School website, Eusea teaches Sports Medicine and at the school and is a certified athletic trainer.

The Sheriff’s Department arrested Eusea on Thursday and he was able to bond out of jail that night.

According to detectives, an investigation revealed that beginning in January of 2016, Eusea began an inappropriate text conversations with a 17-year-old student. They also say that the text messages included inappropriate conversations and pictures.

Eusea is accused of having inappropriate physical contact with a student.

The St. Charles Parish School System released the following statement about Eusea’s arrest:

“As soon as the school system was alerted to the allegations, an investigation was immediately conducted and the Sheriff’s Office was notified. The school system has been fully cooperating with the Sheriff’s Office throughout the investigation.  The teacher is currently suspended without pay. This is a personnel issue; therefore, no other information will be released at this time.”

Eusea is the fourth St. Charles Parish School teacher to be arrested in the last 2 years for having a sexual relationship  with a student.
