EXCLUSIVE: Video of accused cop-killer buying a po-boy

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – WGNO has obtained exclusive surveillance video of the man believed to be the suspect in the killing of 22-year veteran New Orleans Police Officer Daryle Holloway.

24-hours after the murder, suspect 33-year-old Travis Boys was apparently buying a hot sausage po-boy at the Brother’s Food Mart on St. Claude Avenue— just a few miles from where he is accused of shooting Officer Holloway.

Video provided by the store shows Boys nonchalantly ordering his food, paying for it, and leaving the store—all in an area surrounded by law enforcement agents who were searching for him.

The store manager told WGNO that Boys was wearing a baseball cap and a jacket — unusual in the summer heat.  But as Susan Roesgen reports, Boys was hiding a secret under the long sleeves.

UPDATE: Travis Boys has been arrested

The search for the suspected killer of a New Orleans Police officer is over. 33-year-old Travis Boys was arrested near the area of Saint Claude Avenue and Renyes Street early Sunday morning.

Boys allegedly shot Officer Daryle Holloway, a 22-year veteran of the New Orleans Police Department. The incident occurred at the intersection of North Claiborne Avenue and Elysian Fields Avenue on Saturday.

Holloway had been transporting Boys from NOPD to Orleans Parish Prison after Boys had been arrested for aggravated battery and outstanding warrants. Holloway was not the arresting officer.

According to the initial investigation, Boys shot Officer Holloway from within the vehicle during the transport. After the vehicle crashed, Boys fled the scene.
