Gretna, La. (WGNO) – After a morning filled with forensic details, jurors spent the afternoon hearing about conversations from prison. Testimony from two different inmates described Terry Speaks giving multiple confessions. One described Speaks’ keen interest in figuring out scenarios from the television series “Law & Order.”

He said Speaks gave him two different versions of who killed the victim, Jaren Lockhart, and different versions of how and where the body was dismembered and disposed of.

Speaks allegedly told one fellow inmate that they cut the body up to “mess with identification, so they’d think it was a psycho or something.”

Compelling audio tapes were played, revealing phone conversations between Speaks and his girlfriend Margaret Sanchez, referred to repeatedly as his wife.

In several clips, Speaks tells Sanchez how much he loves her, and he begs her not to be with another man or woman.

At one point, Speaks is heard saying, “people that experience what we experienced don’t walk away from each other.” Sanchez replies, “well honey, there are no (expletive) guarantees in life.”

In another conversation they talk about going through “parvo” together, a disease for dogs that can be life-threatening.

Speaks calls it, “the most intense thing that two people can go through together,” and then says, “We worked together to make the parvo go away.”

On the one year anniversary of Jaren Lockhart’s murder, June 6, 2013, Sanchez tells Speaks, “I made front page in Hammond.”

Speaks later tells Sanchez, “I haven’t had sex since June 6th of last year.”

Shortly before court recessed, e-mails between the two accused killers were presented. One from Speaks says in part, “I hold the cards… Do you remember the boots?” and, “You’re the one they’ll fry, not me.”

Court resumes at 9 a.m. Friday.
