NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Do you have a lot next door that’s just sitting there? If you decide to buy it, you could receive up to $10,000 in credits towards the purchase.
On Monday, January 25, 2016, the City of New Orleans announced the re-launch of the popular blight remediation program Lot Next Door 3.0. The program was started after Hurricane Katrina to help people buy properties next door to them for market value or less.
The New Orleans Redevelopment Authority began accepting applications Monday morning. To be eligible for the program buyers must notify NORA of their intent to buy.
To be considered for the Lot Next Door program, you must share a common boundary with an eligible NORA-owned property and meet all other eligibility requirements. See other requirements here.
There are about 2,400 lots up to sale this year.
For more information regarding qualifications and eligibility, please visit the Redevelopment Authority’s website or contact the Lot Next Door office at 504.658.4422.
