A pop up cafe just popped up inside a special New Orleans school

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – It’s not a daily thing. It’s not even a weekly thing.  But once and a while a cafe pops up at St. Michael Special School.

WGNO News with a Twist features reporter Wild Bill Wood takes you behind the scenes and into the kitchen to meet the special chefs from this special school in New Orleans.

Speaking of food and St. Michael Special School, you can help the school and satisfy your appetite at the same time.

The Chefs’ Charity for Children benefiting St. Michael Special School is coming up Wednesday, March 9.

It’s at HIlton New Orleans Riverside.  And it’s from 10 am to 2 pm.

It’s not just lunch.  It’s a show.  Actually it’s a show of cooking demonstrations from some of the top chefs in the country.

Here’s the list of who you’ll see and whose food you’ll get to taste:  Emeril Lagasse of Emeril’s, Josh Best of Restaurant August, Leah Chase of Dooky Chase, John Folse of Restaurant Revolution, Andrea Apuzzo of Andrea’s, Tory McPhail of Commander’s Palace, Alon Shaya of Shaya, The Wong Brothers of Trey Yuen, Justin Devillier of La Petite Grocery, and David Woodward and Goffredo Fraccaro.
