Viewers say fourth sinkhole in the city has been there for a month

Viewers alerted WGNO to this sinkhole on Toulouse Street.

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Between the Uptown sinkhole and the Canal Street cave-in near Harrah’s, last week’s road disasters have New Orleanians on the hunt for more trouble.

Viewers alerted WGNO to this hole – about 12 feet long and 4 feet deep – on Toulouse Street near North St. Patrick in Mid-City. We got word of this big hole after reporting Monday on the third sinkhole to form in the city within the past week.

The first one happened April 28 on Constantinople between Tchoupitoulas and the river, while the second one formed on Canal Street near Harrah’s the afternoon of April 29.

A third sinkhole formed Monday on Taft Place in Mid-City, prompting viewers to let us know about a fourth one on Toulouse that’s been there for about a month. Residents in the area said it’s growing by the day.
