(WGNO) – Spring is in the air and wine is in your glass, or at least it should be. But what kind of wine goes best with this warm weather?

Adam Acquistapace of Acquistapace’s Covington Supermarket explains that just as we need to thaw out, wine does too. Spring wines are lighter, cleaner, and crisper.

Not to mention, crawfish and crab boiling season is right around the corner. Did you know there are wines that pair with those?

A nice light-style Cotes Du Rhones or a pinot noir, like Votre Sante,  go perfect with the warm weather. Even an unoaked chardonnay like Louis Jadot Chablis will do the trick. It’s the clean and crisp flavors that pair the best.

Acquistapace highly recommends Beaujolais. Beaujolais is made with a grape variety called gamay. Not too heavy but no too light, it is one of the most versatile wines out there. It’s a great food wine, one that can go with anything in the springtime. Especially fried foods!
