NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Saints and Pelicans owner Tom Benson celebrated ten years of marriage to his wife Gayle by renewing their wedding vows.
“Ten years. That’s something to celebrate,” says local entertainment legend Chris Owens.
Archbishop of New Orleans, Gregory M. Aymond officiated the ceremony in front of friends and family at St. Louis Cathedral, “Tom, do you renew your vow to take Gayle as your wife?”
Just more than ten years ago it was here at St. Louis cathedral where Benson first laid eyes upon his soon-to-be wife Gayle.
So it`s fitting the happy couple return where it all begins, to begin again with an even stronger foundation than in the beginning.
“You may kiss the bride,” says Aymond.
“I think it was absolutely fabulous,” says Owens. “Such a beautiful couple and it was wonderful.”
The 87 year old Saint’s owner is off next to the post-wedding-vows reception at the New Orleans Museum of Art to bring in a new decade of holy matrimony.
