NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Meet Chicory the newest penguin at the Audubon zoo. Unlike previously Chicory is not being raised by handlers, instead he’s being raised by his actual penguin parents.
This allows visitors of the zoo to see Chicory grow up in front of their eyes. Millicent and Puddles are the bird’s parents- and they’re very protective.
In total, the aquarium has raised 52 chicks in the last 26 years.
