Taste testing some Taste at the Lake dishes

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO)- Delicious food and lively libations can all be found at the 6th annual Taste at the Lake in Lakeview Friday evening.

News with a Twist Reporter Kenny Lopez got a little taste of what will be offered at this year’s Taste at the Lake.

Taste at the Lake is your chance to get a taste of about 40 local restaurants like Mizado Cocina, Nothing Bundt Cakes and Lakeview Pearl.

Adreana Beaumont at Nothing Bundt Cakes said her bundt cake specialty shop will be serving up strawberries-n-cream, red velvet, white chocolate raspberry, chocolate chips and lemon bundt cakes.

Jeff Thibodeaux, general manager of Mizado Cocina, said Mizado Cocina’s Guacamole India will be available for sampling at Taste of the Lake. It has fresh avocados, citrus vinaigrette, a hint of cumin, banana date chutney and coconut.

Finally, let’s head to Lakeview Pearl where Chef Hai’s making something you’ll want to try – the geisha roll with spicy crawfish and avocado inside and snow crab meat and salmon on top.

“Lots of flavors bouncing around,” Chef Hai said.

WGNO is a proud sponsor of Taste at the Lake.

News with a Twist will be broadcasting LIVE on Friday at 5 p.m. & 6 p.m. from all the fun.  The fun begins at 6:15 at 135 Robert E. Lee Boulevard in Lakeview.
