NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) –  Roy Bruno knows his New Orleans brew.

It’s been less than a year since he opened his coffee shop on Decatur Street.  And already, Roy is a big winner.

WGNO News with a Twist features reporter Wild Bill Wood says it’s like winning the Superbowl, the World Series and the Kentucky Derby of coffee.

At PJ’s Coffee, Roy Bruno is the Rookie Franchisee of the Year.

Roy says, “it’s a real honor, love what you do and you’ll never have to work a day in your life.”

Now Roy and the rest of the 85 PJ’s locations across America really are bringing home the gold.

PJ’s is going global.  PJ’s is opening in Vietnam.

In fact, PJ’s will open 10 new stores in Southeast Asia.  Then it moves the brew into the Middle East.

Wild Bill wonders, why does Vietnam need PJ’s?

PJ’s David Mesa says, “coffee consumption is absolutely a part of their lifestyle, just like  it is in New Orleans.”

Already, Vietnam has a favorite PJ’s drink.  It’s called Green Tea Velvet Ice.

Roy Bruno knows how to brew it.  Roy’s got the recipe.

It’s a blend of milk, ice, green tea powder and melon-cantaloupe syrup.

PJ’s Ryan Stansbury says New Orleans is about to get a coffee drink from Vietnam’s menu.
