NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – The New Orleans Oyster Festival is this weekend in Woldenberg Riverfront Park, and WGNO is a proud sponsor.
Each night this week, we’re featuring some of the best oyster dishes around town. Today, it’s the Bourbon BBQ Fried Oyster Poboy from Bourbon House.
It’s a fried oyster poboy that uses Gulf oysters, not too heavily breaded. The oysters are fried until they’re golden brown, then tossed with a bourbon BBQ sauce – a mixture of rosemary, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, Crystal hot sauce, black pepper and bourbon.
The oysters are served on French bread from Leidenheimer Baking Company. Add some mirliton cole slaw and you have yourself a Bourbon BBQ Fried Oyster Poboy.
The Oyster Festival is June 4 and 5. It happens next to the Aquarium. Admission is free.
