NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – It’s not just the acting that’s important, but the clothes the actors wear on camera is a part of the creativity, too!

If it weren’t for the wardrobe department on NCIS: New Orleans, we would have a harder time believing the characters the actors portray.

The inventory at the hit TV show’s studio has every type of costume piece for any type of role, from a homeless man to Burlesque. They even have a nice collection of Mardi Gras gear. If there’s something that a character needs that’s not in inventory, they will make it from scratch.

Because the show films in New Orleans, the heat and heavy humidity can be a challenge when it comes to clothes.

“What you see on camera, which is an outfit that an actor is wearing, there’s actually several more of those in the background,” NCIS: New Orleans Wardrobe Supervisor Billy Mckenna said.  “So every time the camera cuts and we move to a different scene or a different take of some sort. If they start to sweat it out, we’re changing their clothes all day long to make them appear as if they’re not sweaty.”
